The first Careforce Alzheimer Café will open in Kentville in September to honour World Alzheimer Day, which falls on September 21.

Careforce Alzheimer Cafés will be held monthly and will be open to people with dementia, their family members and caregivers. The main purpose will be social, although they will also offer information by way of guest speakers, panels and videos.

The cafés are intended to allow individuals with dementia and their families a place to come and interact socially, to meet other people and share their experiences in a supportive, relaxed environment.

Our second Careforce Alzheimer Café will open soon afterward in Greenwood.
